Supporting Sam Eggington: More Than A Sponsorship
Supporting Sam Eggington is more than just a sponsorship for Rothley; it's about shared values, dedication, and experiencing firsthand the discipline behind professional boxing.
At Rothley, we believe that support means more when it's built on something that we really have a connection with, not just when it's easy, but every step of the way. On May 2nd, 2026, British Professional Boxer Sam Eggington fought against Conah Walker, with months of preparation leading up to the night. Last week, Rothley's Managing Director, Adam Dale, had the incredible opportunity to train alongside Sam. IN this blog, we document the entire training session and how Sam's values as a fighter reflect those we hold as a business. Let's get into it.

Introducing Sam Eggington
Sam Eggington, born in the West Midlands, is a British professional boxer with over 10 years in the sport. During this period, the boxer (nicknamed 'The Savage') has achieved many titles, including IBO Super-Welterweight Champion, British Welterweight Champion, European Welterweight Champion, and was awarded the title of 'Young Boxer Of The Year' in 2017. Sam's dedication and commitment to boxing reflect the same mindset that runs through Rothley: practical, resilient, and built on a hands-on approach where standards are set by doing, not just talking.
For over 12 years, Rothley's Managing Director, Adam Dale, has known Sam. Having originally met at the old Eastside Gym, where they trained together and built a strong, genuine friendship. With Adams' position at Rothley, it was an ideal opportunity and natural step to sponsor Sam, supporting someone he knows personally and believes in. This sponsorship gave Adam the perfect chance to catch up with Sam genuinely as mates, whilst supporting something that means so much to Sam and his career.
Sam's mentality is something that Adam recognises straight away, and one that runs right through how we work at Rothley. Time in the gym showed exactly what that looked like in practice: repetition, discipline, and consistency over time.

A Day At The Gym
Our day at the Eastside gym started fairly early. We made our way from Wolverhampton to the Eastside gym, where Adam was able to chat and catch up with Sam once again. With a genuine friendship at the core of this sponsorship, it was lovely to simply chat about life with Sam, what he'd been up to, and how training was going, before we began training ourselves.

Meeting Sam's coaches and seeing the level of support he has around him every day was equally valuable.

Next, it was time to put on the boxing gloves and get into the ring. Adam spent some time working on the boxing equipment, including the punching bags and exercise bikes. Actually being able to get into the ring and experience how it feels to be a real fighter was a brilliant opportunity.

Supporting Sam Eggington: More Than A Sponsorship - Conclusion
In conclusion, consistency, focus, and commitment behind the scenes are what truly stand out - both in boxing and in business. That's why we choose to support people we genuinely believe in, because we've seen firsthand what it takes. A big thank you to Sam for welcoming us into the gym and giving us the opportunity to experience a training session while connecting on a deeper level.
